This Privacy Policy describes the personal data Lunna collects, processes, uses and retains. It also tells you about your privacy rights and how the law protects you.
This statement should be read together with the Terms and Conditions of Use for other Lunna products and services. Where there is a conflict, this statement will prevail.
This statement applies to all customers, suppliers, agents, merchants, dealers using the Service.
We use your personal data to provide and improve the service. By using the service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
The words in which the initial letter is capitalized have meanings defined under the following conditions. The following definitions shall have the same meaning regardless of whether they appear in singular or in the plural.
Lunna must receive or collect some information to operate, provide, improve, understand, customize, support, and market our Services, including when you install, access, or use our Services.
The types of information we receive and collect depend on how you use our Services. We require certain information to deliver our Services and without this we will not be able to provide our Services to you. For example, you must provide your mobile phone number to create an account to use our Services.
Our Services have optional features which, if used by you, require us to collect additional information to provide such features. You will be notified of such collection, as appropriate. If you choose not to provide the information needed to use a feature, you will be unable to use the feature. For example, you cannot share your location with your contacts if you do not permit us to collect your location data from your device. Permissions can be managed through your Settings menu on your devices.
Device Information - When you install or use our service, or when you contact customer support via our app, we collect information on your device’s hardware model and operating system, the Lunna app version, browser information, and your internet connection IP address. Information You Provide.
Your Account Information. You must provide your mobile phone number and basic information (including a profile name of your choice) to create a Lunna account. If you don’t provide us with this information, you will not be able to create an account to use our Services. You can add other information to your account, such as a profile picture and "about" information.
Your Connections. You can use the contact upload feature and provide us, if permitted by applicable laws, with the phone numbers in your address book on a regular basis, including those of users of our Services and your other contacts. If any of your contacts aren’t yet using our Services, we’ll manage this information for you in a way that ensures those contacts cannot be identified by us.
Service Usage Data-This include information such as Your Device's Internet Protocol address (e.g. IP address), browser type, browser version, the pages of our Service that You visit, the time and date of Your visit, the time spent on those pages, unique device identifiers and other diagnostic data. When You access the Service by or through a mobile device, we may collect certain information automatically, including, but not limited to, the type of mobile device You use, your mobile device unique ID, the IP address of Your mobile device, your mobile operating system, the type of mobile Internet browser You use, unique device identifiers and other diagnostic data.
Chat Messages, images and videos – We store your chat messages you send and receive on our servers, so that if you reinstall the app or change phone, the app will pick up your chat messages again. You can delete chat messages within the app, and they will be deleted from our servers.
Log Information. We may receive information when you view content on or otherwise interact with our products and services, even if you have not created an account or are signed out, such as: IP address; browser type and language; operating system; the referring webpage; access times; pages visited; location; your mobile carrier; device information (including device and application IDs); search terms and IDs (including those not submitted as queries); ads shown to you on Lunna, Lunna-generated identifiers; and identifiers associated with cookies. We also receive log information when you click on, view, or interact with links on our services, including when you install another application through Lunna.
Location Information. We collect and use precise location information from your device with your permission when you choose to use location-related features, like when you decide to share your location with your contacts or view locations nearby or locations others have shared with you. There are certain settings relating to location-related information which you can find in your device settings or the in-app settings, such as location sharing. Even if you do not use our location-related features, we use IP addresses and other information like phone number area codes to estimate your general location (e.g., city and country). We also use your location information for diagnostics and troubleshooting purposes.
Cookies- We use cookies to improve your experience with us when visiting our website, by remembering options such as a login session token and your preferred language. These cookies contain no personally identifiable information.
We also use Google Analytics to track user interaction. We use this data to determine the number of people using our website, to better understand how they find and use our web pages, and to see their journey through our website. Google Analytics records data such as your geographical location, device, internet browser and operating system, and your internet connection IP address. This information is only processed in a way which does not identify anyone. We do not make, and do not allow Google to make, any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting our website.

We enable you and third parties, like businesses, to communicate and interact with each other using our Services, such as Jamii Soko and Communities for businesses on Lunna through which you can browse products and services and place orders. Businesses may send you transactions, appointments, and shipping notifications; product and service updates; and marketing. For example, you may receive information for, a receipt for something you purchased, or a notification when a delivery will be made. Messages you receive from a business could include an offer for something that might interest you. We do not want you to have a spammy experience; as with all of your messages, you can manage these communications and choose to turn off such, and we will honor the choices you make.
For other connected purposes: We may use Your information for other purposes, such as data analysis, identifying usage trends, determining the effectiveness of our promotional campaigns and to evaluate and improve our Service, products, services, marketing and your experience.
The Company will retain Your Personal Data only for as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy. We will retain and use Your Personal Data to the extent necessary to comply with our legal obligations (for example, if we are required to retain your data to comply with applicable laws), resolve disputes, and enforce our legal agreements and policies.
The Company will also retain Usage Data for internal analysis purposes. Usage Data is generally retained for a shorter period of time, except when this data is used to strengthen the security or to improve the functionality of Our Service, or We are legally obligated to retain this data for longer time periods.
